- Pickpocketing: Barcelona is unfortunately considered a stronghold of pickpockets in Europe. Valuables should therefore be stored in the hotel locker as a precaution. Bags and backpacks should never be placed loosely next to a chair or table, but should at least be secured with a chair leg.
